While we always hope for perfect bluebird days, mountain conditions and life can be unpredictable, making comprehensive travel insurance essential. Disruptions can happen for many reasons, including a lack of snow cover, high winds or lightning closing lifts, extreme weather, dangerous road conditions and road closures, train and bus service cancellations, mechanical breakdowns, sudden personal injury, or unexpected events like pandemics and government restrictions. Because these factors are beyond our control, we do not refund for lost ski days, injuries, or closures. Many booking costs are still incurred by us, and our team's time and expertise have already been consumed in planning your trip.

Yes. If you're traveling in a group of six or more, booking as a group, and staying in twin, triple or quad share accommodation, we'll discount your trip by $100 AUD per person.

Booking must be managed and invoiced as one group, and have identical itinerary.

Western style rooms traditionally have raised beds with bedding and pillows similar to those commonly used in Western countries. In traditional Japanese ryokans and pension a twin share room with Western beds will most often be multiple single beds rather than a double or queen bed. This includes when the room is shared by a couple in relationship.

Japanese style rooms are more traditional and generally have a tatami mat floor. The bedding is generally futons, which are sometimes rolled out for you when you check in, and sometimes stacked in the room to allow more space prior to bedtime, and in this case you unstack and lay them out yourself. A futon is like a small mattress that lays on the floor. Japanese style rooms can be a great part of the experience. The pillows in Japanese style rooms can be smaller and firmer.

Starting 1 June 2026, Nagano Prefecture implemented a local accommodation tax of ¥200 (approximately $2 AUD) per person, per night for room rates of over a certain minimum value which the accommodation in your booking will be. As we cannot legally include this in your pre-paid holiday package you will be required to pay this at the hotel. Because this levy must be processed separately from your main holiday booking payment, you will be required to pay this tax directly to the front desk agent of your accommodation via cash or credit card during check-in or check-out.

Our Nozawa Onsen accommodation partners have cancellation terms more strict than many of our other Yeti Trip resort destinations. As such the below cancellation policy will apply to Nozawa Onsen bookings.

• Cancelling more than 180 days prior to arrival: 5% of the total amount (plus the non-refundable deposit) is non-refundable or transferable
• Cancelling between 180 days to 90 days prior to arrival: 20% of the total amount (plus the non-refundable deposit) is non-refundable or transferable.
• Cancelling 90 days or less prior to arrival: 100% of the total is non-refundable or transferable.
• Cancellation policy applies to any changes to the accommodation bookings.
• Dates and time changes for lift tickets and transfers bookings are subject to availability.
• We strongly advise guests to have Travel Insurance cover to protect themselves against unexpected changes to their travel plans and in the case of any injuries.
